Evacuation

Emergency Alert-
FEMA has announced the evacuation of all Utah and Salt Lake County residents. The evacuation site will be located approximately 4 miles up Provo Canyon at Bridal Veil Falls. This is the only remaining area that has not fallen to infection. Evacuation will begin at 1800 hours on November 3rd, 2012. It is recommended to be there an hour early to pass through decontamination and the medical tents to the holding area. This area will be fenced off and protected should there be a zombie attack. You will be issued a special wristband once you have been checked and determined uninfected. Be sure to wear your wristband at all times or you will not be allowed to evacuate. Should problems arise during evacuation, i.e. zombie attack, you will be instructed on where to go. Thank you for your cooperation. Please see the map for the exact evacuation location.

Virus arrives in the Salt Lake area

If there are any survivors out there, the virus has reached the Salt Lake and Park City area with 100% fatality rate. Evacuations are currently being planned for Utah county and surrounding areas in Provo Canyon. More details to follow. If there is zombie activity in your area, please stay indoors until evacuation. Zombies have become highly aggressive and do not respond to vocal commands. They are attracted to loud noises and are growing very hungry. This hunger has caused them to move very fast and will chase anyone they can see. They are known to move and hunt in large groups. The virus and zombie hoardes are currently being tracked and are moving southward into the Utah county area. Once again, evacuations sites are being set up in Provo canyon. More details to follow. End transmission.

Virus Breaks through Quarantine!

Update on the Solanum Virus-
The virus has broken through the Mississippi River quarantine and has spread as far as parts of Colorado and Wyoming. There are still rumors of evacuation points but the government has not confirmed any yet. At this rate, the virus could reach parts of Utah in as little as 2-3 weeks. Time to start preparing if you have not yet done so! Stay tuned for more info and emergency evacuation plans. End transmission.

Update on the Solanum Virus

As the Solanum virus spreads rapidly throughout the eastern United States, scientists still do not have much information about the virus itself. It is a complex virus that mutates very rapidly. The CDC has classified it as a class 5 on the pandemic severity index and it is estimated that it has proved fatal for 55% of the world's population. The CDC urges everybody to remain indoors as the virus is airborne as well as very contagious through bodily fluids. Currently, the quarantine zone consists of every state east of the Mississippi River, with borders set up on the west banks of the river as well as the southern border with Mexico. For now, it is being effectively contained; although we have little to no contact with the Eastern states. Sources say that there is a 95% case-fatality rate in the quarantine zone. The CDC is currently working on an effective vaccine but progress is slow. "The virus mutates too rapidly for us to study it, and it spreads even faster."

Once again, symptoms include—
Hour 1: Pain and discoloration (brown-purple) of the infected area. Immediate clotting of the wound (provided the infection came from the wound.
Hour 5: Fever (99-103 degrees F), chills, slight dementia, vomiting, acute pain in the joints.
Hour 8: Numbing of the extremities and infected area, increased fever (103-106 degrees F), increased dementia, loss of muscular coordination.
Hour 11: Paralysis in the lower body, overall numbness, slowed heart rate.
Hour 16: Coma.
Hour 20: Heart stoppage. Zero brain activity.
Hour 23: Reanimation

The reanimated dead are extremely aggressive and will attack without warning. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS.

There is still no word of evacuation plans, although FEMA claims that the plan is still underway. Expect more updates in a few days.

Emergency Alert- Mexico is no longer responding to communication attempts

Mexico is no longer responding to communication attempts. It is assumed that they have been completely overtaken by the Solanum virus. Be advised on locations for evacuation sites in your area.

The CDC recommends various items for survival:

Running shoes- The reanimated dead are getting faster. Try to pick up a pair before mass panic hits your area.

A blunt object/weapon- The only way to stop an attack is by severing the brain stem. Be aware that the dead are attracted to loud noises.

Ethyl alcohol or disinfectant wipes- The Solanum virus is neither airborne nor waterborne, it is a blood-borne pathogen. Things will be dirty; try to keep open wounds as sterilized as possible.

Water- Avoid contaminated water at all costs. Even though the virus is not transmitted through water, a serious stomach infection will severely inhibit your ability to evade an attack. Healthy=survival

Thick clothing- The dead will bite you if you are close enough. Do not try to reason with them. They are only responsive to hunger. Thick clothing will prevent some of these bites if you are lucky.

FEMA is currently working on an evacuation plan. Be advised on locations for evacuation in your area.

Breaking News

Breaking News- Mass Panic as Virus spreads up Eastern Coast.
Borders still remain closed today as the virus spreads through Maine and into parts of Canada. Government officials recommend assembling the following items for personal use:
  • Water – one gallon per person per day
  • Food – ready to eat or requiring minimal water
  • Manual can opener and other cooking supplies
  • Plates, utensils and other feeding supplies
  • First Aid kit & instructions
  • Warm clothes and rain gear for each family member.
  • Heavy work gloves
  • Unscented liquid household bleach and an eyedropper for water purification
  • Personal hygiene items including toilet paper, feminine supplies, hand sanitizer and soap
  • Plastic sheeting, duct tape and utility knife for covering broken windows
  • Tools such as a crowbar, hammer & nails, staple gun, adjustable wrench and bungee cords.
  • Blanket or sleeping bag
  • Large heavy duty plastic bags and a plastic bucket for waste and sanitation

The public remains furious as promises of evacuation continue to happen with no results. The government still claims that they have “plans in the works for sectioned evacuations.”  They will “advise state leaders of the plans once they are finalized.”
